Tammy Cheney
Tammy began her dance training as a teenager in Ashtabula, Ohio where she was obsessed with the television show FAME and the movie FLASHDANCE. She received a B.A. in dance from Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA. Tammy continued her dance training and began her professional dance career in Chicago, Illinois. She studied at The Ruth Page Dance Center, Columbia College, and The Hubbard Street Dance Center and danced with The Lynda Martha Dance Company, Zephyr Dance Ensemble, Winifred Haun and Dancers, and The Harbinger Dance Company (in Michigan). Tammy moved to the Bay Area in 1994 and has danced with Charlie Moulton, Lizz Roman and Dancers, Robert Moses Kin, ODC/San Francisco, and Sonya Delwaide. Tammy is currently teaching dance and directing the student dance ensemble at The Branson School in Ross, CA. She has also taught at the Shawl Anderson Dance Center, the Marin Ballet School and for The U.C. Berkeley Dance Department. Tammy is currently dancing with Janice Garrett and Dancers. Tammy will be teaching at UC Berkeley and Mills College this coming fall and spring.
