David Brouse
David Brouse has been an apprentice with WNP since August 2008. He is relatively new to “serious” dancing. After seeing WNP’s July 3rd Wings On the Water in Wingfield Park, he tentatively thought about auditioning for the company. Less than two weeks later, he randomly decided to take a Saturday swing class at a local dance studio. There he met Deborah Smith, the founder of WNP. He took this as a “sign from above”, and he has been dancing ever since! He is excited about the healthful benefits of this wonderful marriage between exercise and music, and the general feeling of connectedness and focus he obtains from dancing. He is also convinced that dancing is having positive effects on his music-writing.
For most of his adult life, David was a construction worker and/or a student. He obtained his BS in biochemistry in 2001, worked for a couple of years in pharmacological research, then obtained his Master’s in Education in 2008. Now for a day-job, he teaches sixth grade Earth science at Cold Springs Middle School.
